During the release of the iPhone Duo, Samsung’s account on X left several sarcastic comments, with the main message essentially being: “We were first, and you are late.” It’s unfortunate for Samsung investors that the company keeps confirming that there is mainly one area in which it competes with Apple: the release date. Not innovation, not security, not quality. Just the timeline. And it’s fortunate for Apple investors that Apple doesn’t compete in that domain at all.
You usually don’t see Greg Joswiak in product demos… unless it’s a “One more thing.” Apple’s approach to marketing is special because they know when a consumer needs the marketing manager to talk about the product and when they need a hardware or software engineer. There is a significant problem with ad breaks on streaming services for their lowest-tier subscribers. Of course, you pay less, so you have to accept a less premium viewing experience, which means having several breaks during a movie or a show. But there is one big no-no that it seems none of the streaming services has taken into consideration: you never put an ad break at the very beginning of a show. No matter how much subscribers pay, they are still subscribers, and at least after pressing the Play button, you need to let them first see what they came for.
